Banks wins Spring Championship

David Banks of Hidden Lake Golf Club shot an impressive 6-under total of 138 to capture the 2007 NOPGA Spring Championship, played May 27th and 28th at the Ted Baker designed Stone Ridge course in Elliot Lake.

Banks has competed on the Canadian Tour and Florida mini tours and has won numerous professional events in Ontario. He also has a national long drive title, a national putting title, and eight course records to his credit. David obtained his C.P.G.A class A designation in 1995 and has been the Director of Instruction at Hidden Lake Golf Club in Burlington, Ontario since 1998.

Rounding out the top three were NOPGA members John Hastie of Lively Golf Course at a 1-under 143 total, and Paul Schweyer of Idylwylde at 148.

Next stop on the NOPGA tournament schedule will be June 18th. The Pro/Pro Championship will be contested at Timberwolf Golf Course in Sudbury.
