2009 NOPGA Award Winners

NOPGA President Dan Garagan today released the 2009 Award winners.

NOPGA Match Play Results

John Hastie of Lively captured the 2009 NOGPA Match Play Championship by defeating Paul Schweyer of Idywylde 3&2.

Hastie moved into the the final match by defeating Tom Clark of Timberwold on the first extra hole in the semifinal. Schweyer advanced by defeating Pinewood's Dan Garagan 1-up.

Listed below are the Top 4 finishers this year.

Hastie overall NOPGA Season Points Champion

John Hastie of Lively turned in another great year of steady performance to win the overall points Championship for 2009.

In 2009 Hastie won The NOPGA Spring Championship and the season long Match Play event. Hastie also had 2nd place finishes in the NOPGA Championsip and Pro/Super/Director Events. These high finishes distanced himself from George Lacko of Pinegrove who was 17 points behind Hastie when the final tally was done.

Finishing in a tie for 3rd was Ryan Bastien of Idywylde and Dan Garagan of Pinewood. Below is a list of the Top 10 and their final points for 2009.

Garagan wins final 2009 NOPGA Event

Dan Garagan fired a 4-under 68 to take the 2009 NOPGA Pro/Super/Director Tournament at the North Bay Golf and Country Club this Monday.

Rounding out the top 3 were John Hastie of Lively with a 1-under 71 and Russ Dasilva with a 1-over 73.

A Thank you to host Professional Jeff Mancini for running another great event in North Bay.

NOPGA Championship Results

Sam Yawney shot the low round on day 2 with a 2-under 70 and with that captured the 2009 NOPGA Championship with a 146 (+2) total. With the win, Yawney also became the oldest winner of the event at 56 years old.

Finishing second was John Hastie of Lively at +3 and rounding out the top 3 was Ryan Bastien with a 2 day total of +8 and taking top spot for the Assistants Title.

Below are the results for the top 10 and also shows the NOPGA team for the Canadian Club Pro Championship which takes place in Port St. Lucie Florida in November. The next NOPGA event is the Pro/Super in September.
